Institute of Bodywork Studies
Join us at the Institute of? Bodywork Studies in suburban Dallas for this two and a half day seminar. Learn a deeper method of evaluation and treatment to create lasting results in even your most difficult clients. Myofascial Release, through the Foundations approach, is an easy to learn modality which produces lasting results. Learn directly from Walt Fritz, PT, who brings over 20 years of experience in MFR. Myofascial Release is a therapy modality that is accepted by the medical community and heal th ins…urers. But acceptance does not equate to scientific approval of the underpinnings of this work. Myofascial Release has come under greater scrutiny over the past few years for its lack of true science-based model of explanation. Many in this field feel that “proof” is not necessary; that results are what matters. While results DO matter, providing a plausible explanation for the workings of whatever we perform should be mandatory. To this end, Foundations Seminars have been exploring newer models of pain science and their application to treatment. The result is, in essence, a hybrid form of Myofascial Release; one that takes into account the contribution of the nervous system. Foundations in Myofascial Release I is designed for those new to MFR, as well as those who are experienced. Important concepts in all forms of manual therapy are taught and reinforced, namely a thorough and logical evaluation, which provides a sound basis for intervention. We will guide you step by step into a deep sense of ?Feel? into the body, linking you with the felt sense of dysfunction. This heavily lab-based seminar is a logical entry point into the Foundations Seminar model of learning. Physical, occupational, and massage therapists will all find value in this fast paced and enjoyable class. We will work into all key areas of the body, providing you with the skills to succeed. All work is taught without reliance on pseudoscience. Full details on this seminar are at www.FoundationsinMFR.com.
