Duties of the Reflexology Association of Illinois Board of Directors

ARTICLE IV.

Officers

Section 1.0       The officers of the Association shall be a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary, a              Treasurer, a Membership ChairPerson, and an Events Coordinator.  These officers shall               perform the duties prescribed by these ByLaws and by the parliamentary authority                   adopted by the Association.

Section 2.0       Before the election in November, nominations shall be accepted from the nominating                      committee, by mail, and from the floor of the October meeting.

Section 3.0       The Officers shall be elected by plurality mail ballot on or before November 30th.  The Officers shall serve for one year and their term of office shall begin at the January meeting.  No member shall hold more than one office at one time, and no member shall be eligible to serve more than three consecutive terms in the same office.

Section 4.0       Duties of the Officers

Section 4.1       President

  • To open the meeting at the appointed time taking the chair and call the meeting to order, and to declare the meeting adjourned.
  • To announce in proper sequence the business that comes before the Association.
  • To recognize members who are entitled to the floor.
  • To authenticate by his/her signature, when necessary, all acts, orders and proceedings of the assembly.

Section 4.2       Vice-President

  • In the absence of the President, the Vice-President opens and chairs the meeting.
  • The Vice-President will develop and maintain an association’s calendar of activities and events.
  • ·                  The Vice-President will chair the nomination committee.
  • ·                  The Vice-President will state and put to vote all questions that legitimately come before the assembly and to announce the result of each vote.

 

Section 4.3       Secretary

  • The Secretary will record the proceedings of the Organization’s meetings.
  • The Secretary will keep the organization’s membership role and call the roll when it is required.
  • The Secretary will maintain record books in which are the ByLaws, minutes, and special rules and their amendments.
  • The Secretary will sent out notices of all meetings.

Section 4.4       Treasurer

  • The Treasurer will collect all dues.
  • The Treasurer will disperse the funds.
  • The Treasurer will make a full written financial report annually or to make interim reports as may be requested.

Section 4.5       Membership ChairPerson

  • The Membership Chair Person will mail out membership certificates for Professional or Associate Members.
  • The Membership Chair Person will mail to the new member a Membership Packet.  Said Packet will include: Membership Certificate (either Professional or Associate), copy of current By-Laws, Code of Ethics, and copy of most recent Newsletter.
  • The Membership Chair Person will develop and recruit new members and assist in their transition.

Section 4.6       Events Coordinator

  • The Events Coordinator will research and explore opportunities for RAI participation at Health Fairs & Special Events;
  • Research and Recruit Speakers for meetings;
  • Provide speaker with an informational packet/pamphlet about RAI;
  • Provide guest speaker with a map to meeting location;
  • Follow-up “Thank You” notes to all guest speakers.
